Boone bicentennial collection, 1931-1937.

This collection consists of items associated with the Daniel Boone Bicentennial Celebration in Kentucky in 1934. Items, dated between 1931 and 1937, include a report of the Daniel Boone Bicentennial Commission; newspaper clippings; a letter from William Boone Douglas to the U.S. Forest Service concerning the naming of the Daniel Boone National Forest; a copy of a drawing of George Boone and Mary Maugridge's cabin in Pennsylvania; a postcard listing the first nine laws of Kentucky; two copies of the program for the Boone Bicentennial Celebration September, 3, 1934, at Boonesborough; a souvenir program for The Pageant of Georgia in Macon, May 29, 1933; meeting minutes of the Daniel Boone Bicentennial Commission from February 28, 1934, to June 7, 1934; and a form letter of the American Order of Pioneers, Inc., Washington, D.C., June 1, 1937, inviting participation in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Constitution and the 161st anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
